Corporate Sales Events Manager

Salary – £40,000 (£28,000 basic salary + OTE Commission of £12,000 uncapped) Primary work location: Godalming, Surrey (field based and travel will be required) Reporting to: Head of Commercial Partners

We are seeking an experienced and sales driven corporate events manager specialising in themed events. This role will take charge of all elements and manage and own the department through sales and business development, customer engagement and service delivery to our established corporate clientele and will develop further business to achieve the growth targets required. There will be 3 key venues in the estate that require the majority of the focus.

With a natural aptitude for business development and delivering a passion for brand standards, you will have responsibility for the delivery, sales and lead generation for a corporate football budget.


You may have worked in corporate golf events, go karting events or even for a company that organises tough mudder events.  If you haven’t worked in event sales before but are organised, sales driven with personality please still apply.


Key responsibilities:


  • Own, manage, achieve and maintain the corporate revenue budget
  • Manage existing client relationships to make sure the events are delivered to budget and to agreed specification with the client
  • Develop new business opportunities and relationships in the corporate sector to help achieve new enquiry
  • Generate leads and enquiry through cold calls, networking and working social and networking event opportunities
  • Ensure retention of existing corporate customers and develop account value
  • Reactivate lapsed corporate customers and bookings
  • Manage contract negotiations with prospective clients to ensure satisfaction, delivery and budget is achieved
  • Liaise with Regional / General Managers and Senior Management team


Required Skills:


  • Proven experience with developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with clients and key accounts in a corporate sales environment
  • A knowledge and understanding of football and what would be required of a premium football themed event/tournament
  • Excellent communication skills – able to deliver and be able to deliver presentations when tendering for new business
  • Must be target driven to achieve consistent results and able to sell services to clients
  • Commercial awareness and strategic approach
  • Previous experience in corporate sales within leisure industry is essential
  • A 100% determined ‘Can do’ attitude and positive approach
  • Competent in Microsoft programmes – word, excel, powerpoint
  • Social Media general knowledge and networking understanding – Linked in, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter
