Support Worker

Full time Support Worker required to help with the rehabilitation and care of residents of a care home.

General duties will involve: assisting residents in their daily routines; encouraging them to learn new skills and attend internal and external activities; encouraging them to maintain relationships with family and friends; escorting them on days out or holidays; assisting in the preparation of meals. 

The successful candidate will ideally have:

•  A minimum of 6 months previous experience in care work.
• An NVQ2
• Is sympathetic to those with learning difficulties.
• A desire to support and encourage and will be motivated, industrious and eager to learn.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.  Either early shifts (7.30am – 2.30pm) or late shifts (1.45pm – 8.45pm).  Working alternate weekends.  Shift times are fixed but there may be some flexibility with the days worked.
